The endlessly questioned wordless tank, what exactly is its origin? In the long river of time, some things, with their simplicity, etch an eternal mark. The Cartier wordless tank is such an existence. In 1917, Louis Cartier drew inspiration from a top-down view of a tank, pioneering the integration of the tank's silhouette into watch design. The vertical lugs on both sides represent tank tracks, the case represents the tank chassis, and the lugs and strap are integrated, with a smooth curve extending directly to the strap. This unique design broke the constraints of its time and quickly won the favor of many artistic and cultural pioneers upon its release.
